Its been an excellent growing season and we expect to release our 2025 vintage at the Commonground Fair’s Rose Gate Farmers’ Market) with online sales to open in mid-October. FLAVORFUL SEASONING FROM GROUND TO GRIND
All of Morning Dew Farm’s Paprika and Chile Flake varieties are grown from seed at our farm, then dehydrated and ground in the farm’s licensed kitchen. The flavors that emerge are the fruits of our yearslong exploration of growing unique, flavorful varieties of peppers in our coastal Maine climate. Our paprika is only available in the fall and represents the disctinctive character of the summer growing season. When supply runs out, we wait until the next harvest season to enjoy it again. The 2024 season features two paprikas from the famous paprika growing regions of Hungary, a Basque classic in the vein of pimient d’espellette, a new paprika blend and a signature pepper from each Korea and Turkey.
Similar to wine, our Paprika reflects the nuances of the entire growing season. A primary goal in this project is to fulfill a creative desire to bring unique flavors to those who might appreciate it. If we don’t continue to grow, preserve, and enjoy these varieties, they may be lost to history. So treat yourself or someone you love with a chicken paprikash that I’m certain will be the best you’ve ever tasted.
